MATCHA FORWARD
This expression of ZenCha Matcha is led by stronger matcha-green veining and deeper leaf tones across the pale cream ground. Brighter green accents and occasional toasted traces create more visible movement through the irregular slub construction while still allowing the milky base to remain present.
Variation
Representative photography. Each skein develops its own balance and placement of cream, matcha green, deeper leaf tones, veining and accent color. The skein received will share the overall Matcha Forward character but will not be identical to the skein photographed.

Field Notes
I was drawn to matcha not only for its color, but for the quiet attention that surrounds its preparation. Powder, water, vessel, and hand come together through a sequence that asks for patience — a small ritual where making becomes part of the experience itself.
ZenCha Matcha grew from that feeling. I wanted the yarn to hold something of that pause: soft milkiness, grounded leaf greens, and darker traces that appear and disappear as you move through the skein.
Origin Notes
Matcha is rooted in Japanese tea culture, where its preparation is shaped not only by the tea itself, but by vessel, water, gesture, repetition, and attention. The practice turns an everyday material into something observed and intentional — a relationship between making, presence, and ritual. ZenCha Matcha draws from that layered experience rather than from green alone.
